Day 1: Drive to west Georgia: visit antique town of Uplistsikhe - architectural complex built in the 7th c. BC. Situated in the vicinity of the town of Gori, the complex boasts a number of stone halls, antique theatre and pagan shrines. Some parts of interior are decorated with ornaments. Arrival in Kutaisi and excursion: Bagrati Temple - one of the most important monuments that represent early Georgian architecture, was built by King Bagrat III in Kutaisi, in 1003 AD. The monastery complex of Gelati (11th c.) founded by King of Georgia, David Aghmashenebeli. The Gelati complex implied also Gelati Academy. Stay overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 2: Via Zugdidi arriva in Svaneti province - The pagan traditions, fortified villages, oasis of wild nature, elaborate icons, old manuscripts, archaic social traditions and historical items are still well preserved in this region. Visit Museum of History and Ethnography and stay overnight at the guesthouse in Mestia.
Day 3: Drive to Ushguli village famous with its watch towers and beautiful view of Mt. Shkhara, Ushguli - an unique Middle Age village-fortification is situated 2200 m above see level, and is the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe, tour to Ethnographical Museum, 12th Century Church of the Virgin Mary. Back to Mestia and stay overnight.
Day 4: Free morning in Mestia and return to Tbilisi.
