Batumi city tour Duration: 8 hours
Walking tour in Seaside Park called Boulevard to the old town district, visit museum of history and archaeology, drive to Gonio - a Roman fortification in the vicinity of the border between Georgia and Turkey, the fortress is noted for its fancy brickwork. It is located to the south of the city of Batumi. The excavations revealed an archaeological layer, which dates back to the 17th c. BC. The burial places found there, are of later origin (5 c. AD). Gonio Fortress is proclaimed a museum-preserve of particular importance; Drive to Batumi Botanical Garden located at the place called Mtsvane Kontskhi. Currently, the garden consists of nine floristic sectors, there are sectors of: East Asia, North America, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, the Mediterranean Sea and Caucasian humid subtropics. The Botanical Gardens are also important in the sense that a plot has been created here for the selection of endemic fruit and berry species which are rare or on the verge of extinction. From the Botanical Gardens is really impressive view over the see. Continue visiting Petra fortress built by Bysantian imperor Iustinine in VI century. Return to Batumi.

 

Mtirala National Park Duration: 8 hours
Mtirala National Park located on the territory of three municipalities: of Kobuleti, Khelvachauri, and Keda. The territory of National Park is represented by flora and fauna typical for Kolkhuri type forests. It is an area with a lot of prominent monuments of history and culture with fascinating history and glorious past. The biggest attraction of the park is its stunning scenery and natural beauty. The National Park is rich with many different sub-tropical plants that thrive on the fresh and mineral waters that run through the land. Trail starts at the Visitors’ Centre. The path stretches along the left bank of the Chakvistavi River; its height varies within 296-476 m above sea level. At a distance of 2 km from the Visitor’s Centre the path turns to the south-west and stretches to the waterfall covered with Box-tree and climber, the height of which exceeds 12 meters. At a distance of 1 km from the waterfall the river flows among cliffs, which transforms into the transparent, running water lake rich in trout. On the way from the lake to the Visitors’ Centre the tourists will see the sights of the ruins of ancient settlements.
